Cast and Creative

Creative

Wayne Cilento (Direction and Musical Staging) will next direct and provide musical staging for the remake of the original production of Bob Fosse’s Dancin’ for Broadway. He is a seven-time Tony Award nominee, winning in Best Choreography for The Who’s Tommy. He was awarded a Drama Desk Award and a Fred Astaire Award and received an Olivier Award nomination for the West End production of the show. He provided musical staging and received a Tony nomination for Best Choreography for the international hit Wicked, the fourth-longest running Broadway musical in history, and its many iterations around the world. His other five Tony Award nominations are for his choreographic work on How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Dream: The Johnny Mercer Musical, the 2004 revival of Sweet Charity, and Baby, as well as for performance in the original production of Dancin’. On Broadway, Cilento choreographed Elton John’s Aida and Jerry Herman’s Jerry’s Girls. Off Broadway he directed and choreographed A Hot Minute. His concerts include Alicia Keys’s world tour and the award-winning PBS special Spirit: A Journey in Dance, Drums & Song. He was a member of the original Broadway casts of A Chorus Line, The Act, Seesaw, Perfectly Frank, Irene, Big Deal, and Rachel Lily Rosenblum and Don’t You Ever Forget It. Cilento choreographed the film Winter’s Tale starring Colin Farrell and Russell Crowe. He has also directed and choreographed concerts for Liza Minnelli, Barry Manilow, Chita Rivera, Billy Joel, Donna Summer, Pete Townsend, and The Jonas Brothers. His recent works include the Broadway musical Holler If Ya Hear Me and the acclaimed Broadway legacy project American Dance Machine.
