Are you an actor who feels intimidated by the professional audition experience? Are you ready to step up to the next level of your audition preparation?
If this sounds like you, apply now for The Old Globe’s Two-Day Audition Workshop. This Globe Learning opportunity is for local actors with some experience who are interested in expanding their audition toolkit, gaining usable advice from accomplished professionals in the field, and building confidence and professionalism in their auditions.
Participants will receive personalized monologue coaching and the opportunity to use what they learn in a mock audition with members of The Old Globe’s casting team. Participants must be available for both days and should come prepared with two memorized contrasting monologues totaling no more than five minutes.
Friday, June 7, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.: Monologue Coaching Session
With guest instructors:
During this working session, participants will split into two groups to work audition monologues with coaches, and then share the monologues with the group in advance of the Saturday mock audition.
Saturday, June 8, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.: Mock Audition Session
With members of The Old Globe’s Artistic Department:
Participants will take part in a mock audition session with their prepared monologues. The session will culminate in a Q-and-A panel discussion with The Old Globe’s casting team covering general audition expectations, preparation, and advice.
