Theatre Lesson Plan Design

Summary

Build the Frame: Creating Successful Theatre Lesson Plans
with Marjorie Treger, VAPA Theatre Resource Teacher, SDUSD

September 10, 2022, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. PT

This interactive workshop for theatre educators and teaching artists will explore the art of unpacking CA arts standards, writing a clear lesson objective, and learning how to “frame” a lesson for success.  Participants will practice writing a lesson objective, providing a strong “hook” for student learning and utilizing engaging, informal assessment tools.  Special focus will be given to equity and access, backwards planning and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).  Participants are encouraged to bring a lesson they are working on, an activity they love to teach, a specific standard they are interested in, OR none of the above!  Come fine tune your teaching practice with us!
