Celebrate San Diego Pride with us! Explore the fabulous art of drag with DragLab with Grace Towers at our free AXIS Globe PRIDE event on Saturday, July 16 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Lowell Davies Festival Theatre at The Old Globe in beautiful Balboa Park. Join us for an interactive workshop to develop your “ultra ego” alongside seasoned drag artists, with activities including choosing your very own drag name, creating a signature makeup look, walking the runway, and more. This fun event will finish with a fabulous and diverse show of drag excellence and dancing!

This event will be rated PG. A PG rating implies the artists will not include nudity, sexual situations, foul language, or violence in their acts. Registration to attend is required and plaza seating will be available first-come, first-served. All participatory elements of the event are optional.

San Diego Pride is also happening in Balboa Park that day, so give yourself plenty of time to find your way to our plaza! We recommend entering the park from the east side off Park Boulevard. The Old Globe is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment for its staff, artists and audiences. Due to newly added security measures for this event, please plan on arriving early. Wanding will be utilized for the AXIS: Globe Pride event in the Lowell Davies Festival Theatre at and all bags are subject to inspection by Security staff. Large bags and weapons of any nature will not be permitted in the event or any other venues at The Old Globe.

3:00 p.m.: Lady Carolyn’s pub open and security screening begins on Globe Plaza
3:45 p.m.: Festival Theatre opens for seating.
4:00 p.m.: DragLab Event begins featuring DJ Otter Bawdy, hosted by Grace Towers
4:05 p.m.: DragLab Workshop begins! Audience participants will be provided supplies and instruction on how to create their own Drag persona including choosing a name, a signature make up look and perfecting a runway walk.
5:00 p.m.: Our Drag Cabaret begins featuring performances by Mojo Carter, Dayamis, TJ Barr, Mo Meaux, Quin, Lolita Von Tease, Laura Zee and Grace Towers
