Grinch Sensory-Friendly Event with Jungle Poppins

The Old Globe’s Department of Arts Engagement is proud to present a sensory-sensitive AXIS event: Jungle Poppins in Concert, with post-show music and improv workshops. The event will take place in conjunction with the sensory-friendly presentation of Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas! on December 1, 2018.

This free day of activities, which will begin at 9:30 a.m. on our Copley Plaza, includes spectrum-friendly theatre workshops for all and a live performance by local band Jungle Poppins, led by ability-awareness artist and activist Reid Moriarty.

The sensory-friendly performance of The Grinch requires tickets that can be purchased from The Old Globe’s Ticket Office at (619) 234-5623. Tickets will also be available for purchase that day at the Box Office. All other activities that day are free and open to the public.

These exciting new opportunities will make the 2018 sensory-friendly Grinch more inclusive than ever.

Schedule of the day’s events and workshops:

9:30 – 10:20 a.m.: Pre-show concert with Jungle Poppins
10:30 a.m. – 12:00 noon: Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas! sensory-friendly presentation.
12:15 – 12:40 p.m.: Grinch sing-along music workshop with Paul Eddy
12:40 – 12:50 p.m.: Break
12:50 – 1:30 p.m.: Autism-friendly, Grinch-inspired improv workshop with Samantha Ginn.
