Give the Gift of a Globe Experience

This holiday season, treat a loved one – or yourself! – to a unique opportunity at the Globe. With your tax-deductible gift, you will support the Theatre’s artistic and education programs and we pull back the curtain and give you a peek at what happens behind the scenes.

VIP Tour of the Globe Campus - $500

Managing director Michael G. Murphy will take you on a private tour of The Old Globe campus, from the underground rehearsal halls adjacent to Alcazar Garden to the Festival Stage and all four levels of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center (from the catwalk to the trap room) to the dressing rooms and costume shop. (For four people.)

First Rehearsal Experience - $500

Join the cast of a production at the Globe on their first morning in the rehearsal studio. Attend the reception to meet the cast and staff; see a formal design presentation by the director and designers; and watch the cast’s first read-through of the script. (For two people.)

Private Tour of the Scenic Studio - $750

Old Globe technical director Ben Thoron gives you an in-depth tour of The Old Globe Technical Center, where carpenters, crew and scenic artists build Globe productions and store thousands of props, set pieces and costumes. (For four people.)

Glimpse Inside the Costume Shop - $750

34-year Globe veteran and costume Shop director Stacy Sutton takes you on an intimate and detailed tour of the Globe’s renowned costume shop. See in detail how the costumes are made and what is involved in the design and creation of costumes for a Globe production. (For four people.)

Be a Stage Manager for a Night - $750

A fascinating experience! Spend the evening with the stage manager during a musical or play in the Old Globe Theatre and get the full backstage experience, listening on headset as the crew runs the show and seeing through infrared monitors as scenery is changed in the dark and actors move into place. (For two people – one act with the stage manager for each person.)

Musical Run-Through Rehearsal - $1,000

Attend a Sitzprobe – or a "seated musical rehearsal" – of the world premiere musical Dog and Pony. You’ll see (and hear!) your gift at work, as the Globe prepares these productions for opening night. (For two people.)

Public Reading of a New Play - $3,500

On December 13, 14 and 15, the Globe will present three public staged readings of exciting new plays by inspiring young playwrights.
