Teachers benefit from numerous training programs right here at The Old Globe.

In November teachers bringing students to the Free matinees of Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas come together to practice teaching strategies tied to the show. This year teachers will take a tour of the set, learn creative dramatics techniques, and take home lesson plans they can use right away in their classrooms. All this in a “teacher-friendly,” highly interactive two hour workshop.

In-School Professional Development Workshops

#

The Old Globe Education Department will create Professional Development programs to meet the specific needs of individual schools. Workshops in Arts Integration; Creative Dramatics in the Classroom; Using Reader’s Theatre to Promote Literacy; and other pertinent titles are available upon request. A professional Teaching Artist will conduct a planning session with school staff to create an action plan, schedule the workshop(s) and share assessment strategies.

Contact the Education Department for more information on programs and fees.
