The Old Globe has long been known for its commitment to producing Shakespeare’s plays to the highest possible standards. In 2004 The Old Globe reintroduced the Shakespeare Repertory season based on the model created by founding director Craig Noel. The summer Shakespeare Festival stages three of Shakespeare’s plays each year to enthusiastic crowds who revel in the beautiful productions under the stars in Balboa Park.
To help our audiences make the most of their Shakespeare summer we offer several education and outreach programs that enhance understanding and enjoyment of Shakespeare’s work.
