The Laurel Street Bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic from January through April of 2014 for seismic retrofits to the bridge. The bridge will remain accessible to pedestrians and bicycles. Parking in Balboa Park will be unaffected by the closure of the bridge, but vehicles will need to access the park via Park Boulevard during the repair period.
Take Interstate 5 into San Diego. Exit at 10th Avenue and turn left onto A Street. Turn left onto Park Blvd. Turn left onto President's Way and drive straight into Balboa Park.
Take Interstate 5 North to the B Street exit. Turn left onto B Street, then right onto Park Blvd. Turn left onto President's Way and drive straight into Balboa Park.
Take Interstate 8 to 163. Go south on 163 and exit at the I-5 South/Park Blvd. exit, and stay to the right for Park Blvd exit. Turn left onto Park Blvd. Turn left onto President's Way and drive straight into Balboa Park.

From Park Blvd., turn on Village Place and drive into Balboa Park. Turn right onto Old Globe Way and continue until you meet the theatre. Patrons are permitted to park for a maximum of 10 minutes.
Parking is free in Balboa Park in various lots, including Alcazar lot (closest but fills up quickly), Organ Pavillion lot (best availability), as well as the Aerospace Museum and Hall of Champions lots. Most of these are within a 5-10 minute walk from the theatre. There are additional lots a bit further from the Globe (10-15 minute walk) around the Natural History Museum and the Ruben H. Courtesy parking attendants are stationed in Alcazar, Organ Pavilion and Village Place parking lots prior to all evening performances to assist you in finding parking and to answer any questions. They will remain in the lots during and immediately following the performance.
Valet parking is available nightly beginning at 5 p.m. for a small fee in front of the

New Balboa Park Trams
The new Balboa Park Trams are available to all park guests from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week (9am to 8pm in the summer). The vehicles depart from Tram Central, next to the large parking lots near Inspiration Point (east of Park Boulevard at President's Way). They leave every 10 to 12 minutes, and follow a loop route, taking passengers to a drop-off station in the Plaza de Panama. For more information, contact the Visitor's Center at
